Brooklyn Frank was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in January, 2011. She is joined by her parents, Mike and Kristin, brother, Braden, and sisters, Kayla and Kelsey, in her fight against this disease. She continues to receive treatment each week and we look forward to celebrating the day she is cancer free. Brooklyn’s courageous spirit has inspired so many through this journey. We will post updates on this site as we get new information. We appreciate all of your prayers and support!

Superhero Brooklyn
It is amazing to me the way that Brooklyn is able to bounce back and be such a happy little girl after going through so much this week. We had a great day today! She hasn't been up and around since her surgery on Thursday morning, but getting up and walking is something that she needs to do before we are able to leave. I told her that we needed to try just a little bit today and although she was hesitant at first (because it still kind of hurt), she just took off. We went to visit our old roommate and then went to play in the playroom for awhile. We also had our first sponge bath today which was good & made her feel (and smell) better. She has to take all of these medications that taste terrible and even though she doesn't want to, she will grab them and squirt them into her mouth by herself. Her attitude and strength are so inspiring. Daddy & Brooklyn & I just did about six laps around the halls. She didn't want to stop and we didn't want her to stop. At one point she wasn't even holding our hands and she was jumping. She said "Me like a horsie" because we were following her with her IV cord that is attached to her catheter. She brings us so much joy and we are so thankful for every day.

ReplyDeleteYes indeed, Brooklyn is a superhero! "The nut doesn't fall far from the tree!" You are ALL Superheroes, the Frank Family Six! You have always impressed me and inspired me, Kristin, and never more than now. I know that you and Mike would trade places with your baby girl in an instant if you could. Brooklyn is leading the way for us all! She came to this world with the spunk and spirit of thousands. We love you all so much...feel the love, feel the prayers...it surrounds you all and it is infinite! Kathy, Bruce and girls
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear this news! Can't add anthing new or different to what those those above me have already expressed so well.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to send you love and prayers. Will your parents be at the church in the morning? I could bring your dinner then if you like that way it's ready when you are.
Brooklyn is such an inspiration! I will continue to pray for Brooklyn and your beautiful family.

With Supermom for her mom how could Brooklyn be anything BUT a sweet little superhero herself?! Praying for continued courage and strength for Brooklyn and all of you and thank you for your updates. Love, Mindy
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Saturday was a good day and that Brooklyn is able to bounce back and be such a happy little girl despite what she has to go through.
ReplyDeleteBrooklyn is the cutest, superhero "horsie", no question! I can picture her jumping in the hallway. She was enjoying those laps with her Mommy and Daddy. Her little spirit was happy. Children are truly blessings from God.
Hope her old roommate is doing ok too.
